Foundations of Canvas Course Design 1.0
Faculty who choose to accept an assignment in distance education modes of instruction shall demonstrate preparation to teach in these modes by meeting a minimum eligibility requirement.
Foundations 2.0
Instructional faculty have the opportunity to expand their expertise in online teaching by completing Foundations 2.0, which offers advanced training that includes our Online Teaching Institutes/Academy at ARC, CRC, FLC, and SCC, as well as approved @ONE courses.
Faculty Diversity Internship Program
The Faculty Diversity Internship Program is a one-year commitment aimed at recruiting qualified faculty who mirror the racial and ethnic diversity of Los Rios' service area.
New FastTrack OEI Rubric Academy
The New FastTrack OEI Rubric Academy provides online faculty with resources to align their courses to the CVC-OEI Course Design Rubric. Faculty align their courses with mentorship and instructional and accessibility design support provided.
Interest-Based Approach 3-Day Training
The Interest-Based Approach (IBA) 3-day training is a communication and conflict resolution process that focuses on core interests rather than set positions. Los Rios promotes this interest-based approach as the preferred way to do business in the district.
Interest-Based Approach Facilitator Training
Interest-Based Approach (IBA) Facilitator Training takes place over two full days and provides employees with tips and strategies for being an effective facilitator and recorder for IBA.
Interest-Based Approach Campus Facilitation
IBA Campus Facilitation helps resolve communication and relationship issues on the job. These may occur between two people or involve an entire department at Los Rios.
New Faculty Welcome and Reception
New Faculty Welcome is an annual orientation and training event for new tenure-track faculty that includes question and answer panels with students and veteran faculty. It is followed by a reception that introduces new faculty hires to administrators, leaders, and board members.

Training and development workshops are intended to bring members of individual operating units together to learn topics that are applicable in the workplace or in their personal lives.
