This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of WEAVE, Sacramento County’s primary provider of crisis intervention services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Attendees will gain insight into the range of support services offered by WEAVE, including emergency shelter, 24/7 crisis lines, counseling, legal advocacy, and prevention education.
The session will also explore the vital role of advocates in supporting survivors through trauma-informed care, safety planning, resource navigation, and empowerment-based advocacy. In addition, participants will learn key definitions, signs, and dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking, with a focus on how these intersect and impact individuals and communities.
This training is ideal for professionals seeking to better understand the resources available through WEAVE and how to support survivors with compassion and effectiveness.
